Cat food making machine uses high-expansion corn flour grains as the primary raw material, supplemented with bone meal, meat, protein, vitamins, fiber, and other nutrients. A screw extruder is used to produce various shapes of pet food, such as dog and cat food pellets, through strong extrusion and rapid expansion molding. It can also produce aquatic feeds, including floating feed for fish like mackerel and goldfish, as well as pellets for shrimp, crabs, bullfrogs, and other species.
The dried flavor coating is applied to enhance the taste of the final product, which is then automatically packaged. The pellet size can range from 0.9-15mm, making it suitable for feeding fish of different sizes. Typical raw materials used in pet food processing include grain flour, vegetable protein, minerals, vitamins, and, in some cases, meat or fish meal, along with fresh meat. The dry materials first enter a pre-conditioner where they are hydrated with steam. The mixer thoroughly blends the ingredients, ensuring the proper combination of steam, moisture, and raw materials. This pre-treatment process initiates partial starch gelatinization and creates the desired texture of the polymers.
Next, the partially cooked mixture is fed into the double-screw extruder, where key parameters such as shear, internal temperature, pressure, moisture, and residence time are precisely controlled. This careful control optimizes starch gelatinization while maintaining the nutritional quality of the food. During different stages of processing, liquid or steam can be injected through ports in the extruder barrel. Additionally, an exhaust filler can be used to degas the mixture at this stage, ensuring the best product quality.
